Raised in Fridley, Minnesota, Kris earned his education degree from Minnesota State University, but his teaching plans took a detour when he entered the world of real estate. After attending a seminar on short sales in 2009, he saw how much better the consumer experience could be. Within a year, he became Minnesota’s #1 short-sale agent. As the economy gradually recovered, he applied his innovations to the broader real estate market—shattering the status quo and embracing consumer friendly technology and marketing methods familiar to anyone who’s ever bought an iPhone or shopped on Amazon. By 2014, he was Minnesota’s #1 real estate agent as ranked by Real Trends. And by the next year, he was building his team to meet the growing volume.
With a belief in “leaving the campground better than when you found it,” Kris and his team have supported organizations like 23rd Veteran, Spare Key, Hope for Tomorrow and the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center. As with his approach to real estate, Kris believes that community involvement can go far beyond the traditional.
Having built one of the country’s most popular real-estate Facebook pages (30,000+ followers and growing), he uses social media to engage the public, raise money, donate time and create invaluable awareness. Typical of his “go big or go home approach: After a successful pumpkin giveaway in 2015, Kris decided to set a record for the longest consecutive line of pumpkins. The next year, he obliterated the Guinness World Record. More importantly, the effort boosted public interest and raised thousands more dollars for charity.

Kris enjoys fly fishing, attending his daughter Victoria’s dance performances and further satisfying his competitive streak through basketball and flag football. Tapping his teaching roots, he’s a popular guest speaker and participates in multiple industry panels and lunch-and-learns with a mission to educate agents, improve industry practices and make sure that the ultimate winner is always the consumer. Most recently, Kris is also a bestselling author.
As a way of sharing his knowledge and helping the average consumer, he compiled his exclusive selling system in the book SOLD!, currently available on Amazon.
